If you use Intellius.com to do anything you will automatically be enrolled in this program...I called the number on bank statement and they stated they were sorry and said they cancelled my membership and they would refund my money in 2 to 3 business days.
This is happening alot lately on the internet, words of advice, dont use any sight to look up anything that is charged. Most sights can be used for free, such as public access viewing.
I have become skeptic on any sight anymore that charges for background checks.
So waiting to see.

2. Written by Ruth, on 11-09-2008 09:17 My husband went online to get a copy of his credit score since we are having problems with the company whom we made monthly car payment to, the website asked for his credit card number and to charge him a "one time" fee of $1.00 what they failed to mention was that it would be a one time fee ever month PLUS an addtional $29.95 this has been going for about four months now, after the first month we didnt think anything of it and just figured it would be that month alone but then the second month it appeared again I figured that my husband had signed up for something without realizing it seeing as to how is internet illiterate for lack of a better word, he denied any enrollment and when I googled the A9P* Privacy Matters I came across an 800 number. the same one that Caveat Emptor called, my husband called the company with me on the line and we talked to a representative named Jarvin ID# 9916 he apologized for any inconvinience this may have caused and gave us a courtesy credit for that month and the previous month not to mention that he just so happened to "noticed" that there was another charge from yet another company A9P* Indentity makes me wonder now if they are the same company well this month while reviewing my bank statement I found yet another charge for A9P*YOURSAVINGSCLUB when I googled this company I came across a lot of ripoff.com links with that company associated wtih it. I was able to finally get an 877# but as luck would have it was automated and I was never given an option to talk to a live person which pissed me off even more, now I dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP!!! if anyone has advice or has came across the same problem and got it resolved I need all the help in resolving my problem |
3. Written by JD, on 23-08-2008 17:53 A bunch of thieves. No doubt about it! They have charged my card over $140 in just the last 4 months. Unfortunately, I never use this card so never even look at the bills. When I got a notice of a late fee I inquired with my credit card company - this is when I found out they have been nailing my card each month. I NEVER AUTHORIZED THEM CHARGING MY CARD. These scumbags need to go to prison for fraud!
4. Written by Caveat Emptor, on 11-06-2008 12:08 An update on my June 5, 2008 report below. Pmidentity refunded one of the two $19.95 charges to my credit card. However, I had to call back today to inquire about the second $19.95 charge. The customer service rep (named Sarah, id# 152150) said she had to "escalate it to her supervisor." The supervisor (Yvonne, id# 2552 said "as a courtesy" they would make an exception and refund my second charge. She was polite and made it sound like she was doing me a favor! These scammers know if they are respectful while scamming you you're less likely to raise a stink.
5. Written by Dave71203, on 05-06-2008 14:01 I used Intellius.com to lookup a phone # and address, Was billed 2.95 which I did authorize. However today, I received my CC bill and noted the day after the intellius charge(2.95) there was a charge from AP9*PMIDENTITY for 19.95, which was unauthorized. I tried the phone # on the statement and only got an automated phone system, which did tell me the account was cancelled. They didn't say anything about a refund. I called the CC company and they said they would reverse the charge. A few minutes ago I received an email from AP9*PMIDENTITY confirming my account cancellation, again no mention of refund. I replied back demanding a refund. Of course if the Credit Card Company takes care of it I don't expect to hear back from the rip off folks. Wonder how many folks get ripped off in a day this way ?
6. Written by Caveat Emptor, on 05-06-2008 13:50 My wife bought a $2.95 Intelius report in April 2008 and then without our consent my credit card was charged $19.95 from Pmidentity.com one week later and again in May 2008. I called Pmidentity at 800-436-0817 to cancel. The limited menu of automated choices did not offer an option to talk to a human being or to receive credit for the $19.95 charges. After listening to the voice menu and not making any selection, the menu eventually timed out and my call was transferred to a service rep. The rep agreed to credit my credit card company within 2-3 business days. These slimeballs have a finely tuned scam model, which relies on a large percentage of people not detecting the $19.95 charges or demanding refunds. For those that want refunds, they have to overcome obstacles like the call center automated menu. Unfortunately I canceled my credit card before I called Pmidentity so now I have to rejigger all of my automatically billed charges. THESE GUYS ARE CRIMINALS.

8. Written by PGelsman, on 22-05-2008 10:14 I used Intellius for get an email address of someone, and next thing you know, I now have 2 charges on my Paypal card to PMIDENTITY. When you call them, on the number from the CC info, they ask for your credit card info to identify you. HA! I reported them to PP and now I'm waiting for my $40 back.
9. Written by Martie Ishman, on 02-05-2008 16:57 I had used Intelius before and had never had this happen previously. I contacted my bank (Wachovia) immediately and spoke with the Fraud department. They have issued a temporary credit to my account, are sending me a new card and have advised me to contact this AP9*PMIDENTITY to advise them that I have spoken with my bank and that they need to close this fraudulent account. I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I felt inclined to share it with all.
