In October 2009, I unwittingly signed up for a membership with Privacy Matters while navigating Classmates.com. I was charged for a month's membership at $19.95 and if I didn't cancel within 30 days, I would continue to be charged. Since I didn't realize I had signed up, I didn't look for these charges on my bank statements. Yesterday I sat down with a year's worth of statements and found a year's worth of charges. I phoned them today and so far have been refunded 6 @ $23.95 and 1 @ $19.95. I will continue to pursue this with Privacy Maters and my bank until I get this resolved. I will also be canceling my Classmates membership. 128a7ac

I too had the same problem. Never to my knowledge signed up for this service. Found it on my credit card statement. Never filled out any forms or gave consent. When trying to contact them by phone they did have any of my information. Am still getting billed. Found their website and filled out form so they can address this problem. Sounds fishy to me. Am still waiting to hear from them. Talk about credit protection, this is the worst.
