I went on AnnualCreditReport.com, gave them my info for 1.00 fee for
free credit report; checkef the no box for all other offers , cancelled the report fee immediatel whenn I failed to get report. My next bank statement showed a 19.95 charge for
PrivacyMatters which I am sure I did not sign up for. I called them and was told:sorry, we'll refund but so far it hasn't happened. So beware: this freeannualcreditreport is far from free; it is fraud. If it is not refunded immediately my bank sys that they will refer this company to the local
police dept.internet
fraud division for investigation.

This co has broken into my bank account and taken 19.95 out per mo for several months. I thought the money was going to Ancestry.com. I have never heard of this co until I started investigating this. They are true IDENTITY THE IFS BEWARE

I had the same problem with Privacy Matters, but I didn't wait for them to give me a refund. I had my bank reverse the transaction. My bank also gave me my so-called account number with PMI, which I used to cancel my again, so-called membership. I then hit 0 to talk to a "customer service" rep, who BTW could barely speak English due to off-shore contracting. I gave the poor guy an earful, telling him and PMI never, ever to debit my account. The lesson from this whole experience is to beware of "integrated" offers that lurk on all sorts of websites. Unfortunately, we unsuspecting consumers accept many of these offers due to default buttons, and other deceptive trade practices. Be careful even when going to the FTC sanctioned free credit report sites.
